Ingredients

    1. 1 cup milk powder
    2. 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    3. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    4. 2 tablespoons melted ghee
    5. Approximately 1/4 cup milk (adjust to make a smooth dough)
  2. For the Syrup:
    1. 1 1/2 cups sugar
    2. 2 cups water
    3. 3-4 crushed green cardamom pods
    4. A few saffron strands (optional)

Method / Preparation

Follow step-by-step instructions
  1. Mix the milk powder, all-purpose flour, and baking soda in a bowl. Add melted ghee and milk gradually to form a soft, pliable dough.
  2. Shape the dough into small, smooth balls without cracks.
  3. Heat oil or ghee in a deep frying pan over medium heat and fry the balls until golden brown.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the syrup by boiling water, sugar, cardamom, and saffron until slightly thickened.
  5. Immerse the fried balls in the warm syrup for 30 minutes.
  6. Serve warm or at room temperature.
