  • 1 cup dried mango powder (sweetened, or adjust sugar)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons milk powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Pinch of saffron strands (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon citric acid (optional, for tartness)
  • 1/2 cup water or milk (for serving)
  • Chopped nuts or mint sprig (for garnish)

Method / Preparation

Follow step-by-step instructions
  1. Ensure your dried mango powder is finely ground. If not, pulse it in a dry grinder until fine.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the dried mango powder, powdered sugar, milk powder, cardamom powder, and saffron strands (if using).
  3. Add the citric acid if you prefer a slight tartness to balance the sweetness. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  4. Pass the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any lumps and ensure a smooth, uniform powder.
  5. Store the Instant Aam Ras Powder in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. It stays fresh for several weeks.
  6. To prepare Aam Ras: For one serving, take 2-3 tablespoons of the prepared powder in a bowl.
  7. Gradually add 1/2 cup of chilled water or milk to the powder, stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Adjust the liquid amount for desired consistency.
  8. Whisk well until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  9. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving for the best taste.
  10. Garnish with chopped nuts or a fresh mint sprig before serving.
