  • 1 cup masoor dal (red lentils), soaked overnight ya 2-3 ghante ke liye
  • 1/2 inch adrak (ginger)
  • 1-2 hari mirch (green chilies), swaad anusaar
  • 1/4 cup pyaaz (onion), bareek kata hua
  • 1/4 cup tamatar (tomato), bareek kata hua (optional)
  • 2 tbsp hara dhaniya (coriander leaves), kata hua
  • 1/2 tsp jeera (cumin seeds)
  • 1/4 tsp haldi powder (turmeric powder)
  • Pinch of hing (asafoetida)
  • Namak (salt) swaad anusaar
  • Paani (water) zaroorat anusaar, peesne ke liye
  • Tel (oil) cheela banane ke liye

Method / Preparation

Follow step-by-step instructions
  1. Masoor dal ko acche se dho kar 2-3 ghante ya raat bhar ke liye paani mein bhigo dein.
  2. Bhigi hui dal ka paani nikaal dein aur use adrak, hari mirch aur thoda paani ke saath mixer grinder mein daal kar smooth batter bana lein. Batter zyada patla nahi hona chahiye.
  3. Batter ko ek bowl mein nikaal lein. Ab ismein bareek kata pyaaz, tamatar (agar use kar rahe hain), hara dhaniya, jeera, haldi powder, hing aur namak daal kar acche se mix karein.
  4. Agar batter zyada gaadha lage to thoda paani mila kar dosa batter jaisi consistency ka kar lein.
  5. Ek non-stick tawa garam karein. Thoda tel lagakar tawa ko grease karein.
  6. Ek ladle batter tawa par daal kar dheere se gol shape mein failayein, jaise dosa ya cheela banate hain.
  7. Madhyam aanch par ek taraf se sunahra hone tak pakayein. Phir kinaron par thoda tel daalein.
  8. Jab ek taraf se pak jaye to palat kar doosri taraf se bhi sunahra aur crispy hone tak sekein.
  9. Garama garam Masoor Dal Cheela ko apni pasand ki chutney ya dahi ke saath serve karein.
  10. Bache hue batter se aise hi aur cheele banayein.
