  1. 10 colocasia (taro) leaves, washed, trimmed, and dried
  2. 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  3. 1/2 cup grated coconut
  4. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  5. 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  6. 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  7. Salt to taste
  8. 2 tablespoons oil
  9. 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  10. 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander

Method / Preparation

Follow step-by-step instructions
  1. In a bowl, prepare a smooth paste by mixing besan, grated coconut, turmeric, red chili powder, ginger paste, salt, oil, and lemon juice—add a little water if needed to form a thick, spreadable batter.
  2. Lay each colocasia leaf flat and spread about 1–2 tablespoons of the batter evenly over the surface.
  3. Carefully roll up each leaf tightly to form a spiral roll.
  4. Arrange the rolls in a steamer and steam for 25–30 minutes until the batter is cooked through and firm.
  5. Let the steamed rolls cool slightly, then slice into ½-inch thick rounds.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve as a nutritious, flavorful snack.
